Homer Croft Jr. was born on June 25,1956 in Osceola, AR, to Homer Croft, Sr. and Candis Whiteside. Both preceded Homer Jr. in death.
He was raised in Cleveland, OH by his mom, where he was brought up in Church and had a village of loving people who were instrumental in his care and growth.
Earlier in life after high school, Homer married his sweetheart Marilyn (Means) Croft. They bore two sons: Cedric Means (Nichole, Sean, Ariyana, Cyreniti, Cedric Jr.) and Christopher Croft (Jalisha).
Homer was a hard worker where he held several jobs in Cleveland, working alongside his best friend, Ivory Brooks, who preceded him in death.
Homer moved to Las Vegas in December 2000, where he married Habeebah (Shafeeq) Croft and bore one son, Noah, and father to Amir. Homer worked at North Vista Hospital in Environmental Services, and as a journeyman with Teamsters 631.
Homer enjoyed playing cards, signing, listening to jazz, working, and building with his hands. He loved to dress up to spend time with family and friends, and was often the life of the party with his gentle and fun-loving personality.
Homer leaves behind his longtime partner Sherry Cook-Collins and family. He also leaves behind his sons: Cedric, Christopher, Noah, Amir, and five grandchildren. His sister Gail (Nicholas), sisters Pearla and Gwendolyn and brother Tony.
Homer will forever be in our hearts.
Called Away
By. Kelly Roper
Our dear one was called away,
And has gone with the lord to stay,
Although his passing makes me weep.
We rejoice; our loved one rests safe in God's Keep.
