Candace C. Farthing, known to many as “Candie,” departed this life on April 5, 2024. Candace, born on July 8, 1970, was a compassionate and courageous woman, whose adventurous spirit and smart wit touched everyone she met. She was a beacon of creativity, dedicating her career to the field of graphic design, where she was able to channel her artistic talents and imagination. Candace’s life was a testament of love, resilience, and generosity. She lived in various cities in her lifetime, from St. George, Utah to Santa Monica, California, to Portland, Oregon, and Las Vegas, Nevada, enriching each community with her vibrant personality and kind heart. Candace was a woman of many talents but what mattered most to her were her children, friends, and family. Her nurturing nature was so profound that she became a mother figure to many children who were not hers by blood, always opening her home and her heart to those in need. As poet Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Candace’s legacy of love and compassion will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched. Candace leaves behind a loving family: her children, Adella Farthing (Jason), James Farthing (Janell), and Jackson Williams; her mother, Jackie La May; sister, Melanie La May; grandchildren, Dahlia and Nolan Teffteller, Addysin, Kynzlie, Cazlynn, and Slayde Farthing; son-in-law, Jason Teffteller; and daughter-in-law, Janell Farthing.
