It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Malikye D Younker, fondly known as Kye, on June 3, 2024. Born on November 26, 2001, in Liberal, Kansas, Kye was a ray of sunshine who filled our lives with joy and laughter. His sudden departure has left an indelible void, reminding us of the enduring words of Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Kye was a vibrant soul, a beacon of light who could brighten even the gloomiest days. He was an endless source of love, laughter, and warmth for his family and friends, and his boundless spirit was contagious. His love for snowboarding,  video games, and being with his brother, Tucker, painted a picture of a young man full of life and brimming with joy. He was a cherished son, adored brother, and a loyal friend, who left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate to have  known him. In the words of Albert Einstein, “The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the  library.” And Kye, with his insatiable curiosity, found his library in every corner of life, every snow-capped mountain, every beat of music, and every shared smile.

Kye’s life may have been short, but his memory will live on, inspiring us to cherish every moment, to love selflessly, and to bring joy to those around us. He was a firm believer in the power of kindness, often going out of his way to lend a hand to anyone in need. His time at Lee Canyon was a testament to his love for adventure and his ability to create  lasting bonds with everyone he met. In the words of Helen Keller, “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All  that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” And so, Kye has become a part of us, his spirit alive in our memories, his laughter echoing in our hearts.

Kye is lovingly remembered by his mother Michelle (and Matt) Bosch, brother Tucker Swank, grandmothers Bobbi Strait and Connie Dearden, grandfather Blair (and Mary) Younker, 3 aunts Stephanie (and Mike) Woods, Desiree
Younker (and Robert Perkins), and Megan Younker, and 1 uncle Dallas (and Regina) Younker numerous cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his uncle, Brandon Younker.
