With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Fermin Garcia, on April 6, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 6, 1955, in Temastián, Jalisco, Mexico, Fermin was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, tio and friend.
Fermin is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Gricelda Garcia; his daughter, Synthia Wilmot; his sons, Jonathan (and wife Sandra) and Brandon Garcia; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison and Mason Wilmot, and Noah Garcia. Known for his kind, caring nature, and ability to make anyone smile, especially his grandchildren, Fermin was a true light in the lives of those he touched.Fermin began his career as a welder and rose to become the shop manager at Era Products, where he was instrumental in their operations. He later became an indispensable handyman at Land Rover of Las Vegas, known for his dedication and willingness to help. Fermin’s sentimental nature was evident in the cherished memories he created with his family. Gricelda fondly remembers Fermin’s meticulous attention to detail and his thoughtfulness towards her, especially the beautiful bouquets he crafted from wildflowers during their walks through Red Rock Canyon and the thoughtful flowers he presented to her in Hawaii. Synthia fondly remembers the joy of telling Fermin that her son Mason was given the middle name Cruz; in his honor. Jonathan will always cherish the bike rides during childhood where, at the end, Fermin would treat him to whatever he wanted from the gas station as a reward.Brandon fondly recalls their weekend yard sale adventures followed by grabbing a bite to eat, or watching their favorite TV show “911” which were moments that brought them joy and closeness. Fermin was an enthusiastic camper and biker creating countless cherished family memories in nature. His garden was a testament to his green thumb creating an oasis in the desert, and his collection of rocks from around the world reflected his love for the earth’s beauty. One of Fermin’s favorite places was the beaches of Ventura, California, where he and his wife shared many precious moments during their early years together.
An avid fan of rock music, Fermin loved the sounds of Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, and The Who. His love for the Dodgers brought the family together for many memorable games, enjoying Dodger Dogs and the excitement of the crowd. Known for his love of a Budweiser tall boy, Fermin’s simple pleasures and deeply caring nature touched everyone around him.
