It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Christopher Edward Philipp, affectionately known as Topher, on June 9, 2024. Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 22, 1962, Christopher’s journey led him to various parts of the United States, including Wilmette, Illinois, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, the Redwood Forest of California, and finally Las Vegas, Nevada, each location adding a new chapter to his adventurous life. A dedicated Credit Manager in the banking sector, he found a way to balance the demands of his profession with his love for gaming and flight simulators, demonstrating his unique ability to merge work and play.
Christopher’s life was a testament to loyalty and dedication. His wife, Paula, aptly encapsulated his world. Their deep bond, spanning over two decades, was a beautiful testament to enduring love and mutual support. Christopher was the best friend anyone could wish for. He was a supportive pillar, a steady rock, always ready with a calming presence. Yet, beneath this calm demeanor lay an adventurous spirit. He loved hiking, exploring the outdoors, boating, water skiing, and was a formidable chess player.
As the poet, Maya Angelou once said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel,” Christopher’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him, not for his words or deeds, but for the feelings of love, support, and friendship he evoked. His legacy will be carried forward by his loving wife, Paula, his brothers John Philipp and Rob Noble, and his sisters, Debbie, Nancy and Melissa Philipp. He now joins his father, John Philipp, and mother, Mary Philipp, in eternal rest.
